I think one of the most important things we hand down to our children is our music library and music taste.
Think about this. When my kids are sitting around their kitchen table with their friends and family in the early hours of the morning, intoxicated and at the end of a great night, they'll be listening to stuff from their great grandfathers, grandfather's, father's and their own collection. Like how fucking awesome is that?
Fostering a good music library is something I consider really quite important. This is the kind of information that deserves to be archived the most. It's the kind that tells the most story. It's the kind that brings back memories and happiness while us and our future generations are crowded round that dinner table in the wee hours of the morning. That's what's important. That's the dream. That's what I want. That's everything I need my life to culminate to by the very end. I have my 2 year plan. I even have a vague Idea for 5 and 7, but that right there described before? That's the ending. That's where it needs to get to. I won't be satisfied until it does.
Music is our legacy, it's a family heirloom that is completely unrivalled in every single way, and passing on this baton of art and knowledge to my kids is one of the things I look forward to most about having children.
